Meat Judging

The following pages contain information about meat judging, where to find more information and what to look for in individual classes. Classes for judging have been included with official placings and reasons. Classes are for a collegiate level and may be difficult for beginning students.

Judging classes and grading rail are from the Iowa State Invitational Collegiate Meat Judging Contest that was held in Ames Iowa October 13, 2001

All people involved in training meat judging teams should purchase a meat evaluation handbook. You can contact the American Meat Science Association or you can order it from the website.
