Internship Resources
Most students in the Department of Animal and Range Sciences are required to complete an internship. Our department has resources for both undergraduate and graduate students that cover many interests.

Application deadlines:
- Summer Semester Internship: Due by April
- Fall Semester Internship: Due by July 1
- Spring Semester Internship: Due by November 1
Equine Science
Equine science internships include opportunities for ranch work, or with veterinary centers, therapeutic learning and rehabilitation services.
- Houlihan Ranch – A horse ranch that includes duties such as feeding, doctoring, working with breeding animals and colt training.
- Montana Equine Medical and Surgical Center - Equine surgery and medical services
- Windhorse Equine Learning – Teaching youth to interact with horses with leadership and communication skills. Therapeutic riding using the horse as a guide
- Ray Equine Service (Copper Spring Ranch) - Veterinary services of horses and some cattle
- Save A Forgotten Equine (SAFE) – Assists with rehabilitation and rehoming of neglected and abused horses
- Cedar Ridge Equine – Horse riding camps, lessons
- Eagle Mount – Serve individuals with disabilities of all ages, as well as people with cancer through activities that include horseback riding, skiing, swimming, gardening, cycling and climbing, among others.
Pre-Veterinary/Companion Animal
These internships include working with veterinary offices of both small and large animals and companies working with companion animal services.
